Red

Some of the foliage on my 'Johnson's Blue' hardy geranium is turning red. This is more interesting than turning brown or yellow and crinkling up right away, but still. It makes me feel like fall is already in the air.

Shades of Coming Autumn



Oh, in the centre background is my heuchera 'Peach Melba', which is only peach-coloured in spring and early summer. The colour deepens to maroon-red as the season progresses.

Here are some more fall colours, in a sort of artistic view of coreopsis flowers backed by 'Marmalade' heuchera and 'Purple Knockout' Sage.

And finally, while I'm on a red theme, this photo turned out interesting because of the weird light peeking through the elm when the sun was low in the sky.
