Backyard with Snow (taken yesterday)

Same View in Spring (taken April 19, 2006)

We had a huge snowstorm this weekend. The first photo is our backyard as it looks right now. The second photo is what I'm waiting (desperately) for.
By the way, all this snow is completely out of character for the area I live. Yes, we get snow, but we usually get thaws in between snowstorms, so that by the time March rolls around there might be one last blast of winter, but it doesn't last and it feels more like the empty threat of a defeated champion than the promise of a strong contender.
This feels like winter still has more fight left. I hope that's not true and that warmer weather is on the way.
It will be a mushy spring, though, from the looks of things.

I'm so disappointed. I just heard that we are expecting more snow tomorrow. I can't believe it. Just when the grass is finally starting to show. Spring can't be far away, can it? Tell it's so. Please!!!
the winter view is lovely but the summer view is much, much better. the sun was bright today and during a walk through the neighbourhood all i could hear was dripping...from the rooftops, through the eaves, into the catch basins. two weeks tops and we'll be able to see our gardens again and get to work.
cheers

NICE Blog :)
Nice SPAM. :)
Hi Karen! That was quite a snowstorm. You got hit much worse than us. Our yard is bare of snow now, but the arctic wind just won't let go. My snowdrops just opened yesterday. They're shorter than usual.
The warm weather will surely arrive soon!
Your yard looks like ours here in Nova Scotia right now...very white. It felt like spring today however, even with the snow!
You have a beautiful garden! Cheers!
Hope the weather warms up soon.
The same picture here in Toronto- Guildwood, we had a lot of snow but it is melting now. I am palnning for a new flowerbed in front of the house. Just published all the details.
Please take a look.
-Cheers
OMG Karen, that's nuts. I live in Sault Ste. Marie, Ont. and yesterday we had thunderstorms and rain. Almost all our snow is gone which makes me very happy. Hope you thaw out soon so you can get into that beautiful yard and garden, garden, garden!
Hi Karen, we also had snow a few days ago, but no storm. I hope for better weather, like you!
Spring is there, but it is so cold.
