Spring!

Spring has finally arrived in my garden.

The weather is still all over the place -- T-shirts and shorts at the beginning of the week, winter jacket and gloves by the end. The warm weather encouraged the magnolia to bloom early, and the buds were just starting to pop when a blast of cold air gave us a day of wet, sticky snow falling from the sky. (It didn't stay around once it fell, but still. It was cold enough to snow.)

I am happy to report, however, that the magnolia seems to have bloomed with beautiful pink and white flowers anyway. So far as we have seen, there is no ugly brown frost damage to deal with (unlike 2008).
